Anti-Diversion Policy - Why Shop Your Local Salon?

Are You Getting The Real Thing ?

In order to keep the insurance policy up on your hair and the integrity of our work, it is our duty as master colorists to keep the public aware of scams that will compromise our work and that you spent your time and money getting done right. I always say buying drugstore or “grey market” products for your hair would be like buying a nice car and putting the wrong gas or oil in it and washing it with Dawn dishsoap. We just wouldn’t do that to our investment.

All genuine L’Oreal Professional products are sold exclusively in L’Oreal Professional Authorized Consultant Salons. Even though L’Oreal Professional is only sold directly to authorized salons, you may still see similar bottles at your local grocery store, drugstore, superstore or online retailer.

These products that have been acquired on the “grey market”, could be a health hazard and are often old, contaminated, diluted with unknown ingredients or even counterfeit and may not be safe to use! Irritation, dryness or infection can result from the use of these diverted products.

L’Oreal Professional, which also includes Kerastase, Redken, Pureology, and Matrix, has no agreements or contracts for their products to be sold in places like Target, CVS, Walmart & HyVee. The labeling, smell and consistency of these products don’t even come close to matching what is sold through salons, I’ve checked personally. . Also, you will likely pay more…..undercover shopping found that prices of diverted salon products were 10-20% higher than what you would pay in a salon. So don’t waste your time or money on store bought products, that will only lead to disappointment. Instead help the professional industry by strengthening your relationship with your stylist that offers professional customized and credible recommendations of the best products for your hair.
